Restaurant ordering software: guests scan, orders reach staff
QR ordering for restaurants: guests scan a code, browse a menu in their own language, and order straight to staff phones. No POS.
TaoMenu is ordering software for restaurants that runs on a phone: guests scan a QR code to view the menu and order, and staff receive orders on their phones. No POS hardware needed.
Getting started in a few steps
- Sign up free with a phone number or Google, right from your phone.
- Build your menu: enter items by hand, or photograph a paper menu and let AI draft it (Pro).
- Create a QR code per table (or one shared pickup code) and print it.
- Guests scan, browse the menu, pick items and send the order.
- Staff receive orders on their phones, cook, mark done and record payment.
Who it is for
TaoMenu fits sit-down restaurants that still take orders with pen and paper or chat apps — especially when:
- You serve foreign tourists — see multi-language menus.
- Rush hours get busy and staff cannot keep up with table orders.
- You want fewer misheard orders: everything arrives in writing.
What TaoMenu looks like
Guests scan the code on the table and the menu opens right in the browser — with photos, descriptions and prices in the guest's language. Items with options are chosen on screen and the price updates automatically.
Orders reach staff phones within seconds. Staff accept orders, cook, mark done and record payment right on their phones — no computer at the counter.
What TaoMenu does not do
- It is not a full POS: no inventory, accounting reports or ingredient management.
- AI drafts never auto-publish — every draft needs the owner's review.
- TaoMenu does not collect payments: guests pay the shop directly. Online payment is in development.
Free or Pro
- Free: 1 staff seat, 1 menu language, manual menu entry. Enough for a small shop day to day.
- Pro: 4 staff seats, up to 5 languages, photo/PDF menu import, reviewed AI translation, dish photo enhancement and premium QR templates.
See the pricing page for details.
